The Effect of Satisfaction in the Worker¡¯s Role on the Institutionalized Children¡¯s Discharge Stress

Abstract
The Purpose of the study was to identify factors influencing discharge stress of institutionalized children, with a special focus on the impact of satisfaction in the worker¡¯s role in residential child care facilities. For the purpose of this study, surveyed data from nationwide sample of 194 children in residential child care facilities was analyzed. Result of the hierarchical regression analysis showed that level of satisfaction in the worker¡¯s role had a significant effect on children¡¯s discharge stress, after accounting for control variables in the study. Based on the findings of the study, practical implications of the study were suggested that workers in residential child care facilities have to make an effort for self-reliance support for emotion of children, for supporting of relation-restoration with family, for internalizing a child-centered perspective.
